We can't wait for your first day!

UGA Development and Alumni Relations

Welcome to DAR!

On behalf of the University of Georgia’s Division of Development and Alumni Relations (DAR), I want to express how excited we are for you to join our team of professionals working daily to help the UGA community, our students, and our state achieve great things. This email contains a number of details for your first day. I look forward to meeting you!

—Jill S. Walton
Vice President for Development and Alumni Relations and Executive Director of the UGA Foundation

A welcome message from Jill Walton

Get ready to level up!

During FY25, which ends June 30, our goal is to raise $300 million to support students, research, teaching, service, and experiential learning on campus. Every office in DAR plays a role in engaging students, parents, alumni, donors, companies and other members of the Bulldog community in support of this goal. Your supervisor can help you understand how you can help us achieve a record fundraising year.

Your first day

In DAR, we dress for our day. This means that we are business casual Monday through Friday, with more casual attire being appropriate on Fridays when not meeting with donors/campus leadership. Certain meetings or events may require more formal attire; consult your supervisor for details.

Parking

For those working in One Press Place, please park in the open lot near the intersection of Thomas and Broad streets on your first day. There are green VISITOR spaces to the left as you enter. Your supervisor will ensure you have a parking pass for your dashboard to use until your campus parking is established through UGA Parking Services.

For those located in other campus buildings or who are officed outside of Athens, your supervisor will provide more details to ensure your parking arrangements are communicated!

Schedule

Your supervisor is responsible for a “5-5-5” onboarding schedule that covers your first five days, weeks and months in DAR. If you are unsure of this schedule, please don’t hesitate to ask them.

Lunch

On your first day, your team may wish to accompany you for lunch if there aren’t schedule conflicts – be sure to confirm with your supervisor ahead of your first day. There are breakrooms throughout our buildings on campus for you to bring your own meal items and gather with colleagues.
