Dear Colleagues, Students, Supporters, and Friends:
“There is a time for everything…,” begins the memorable proverb, and this spring was no exception at the UGA College of Pharmacy. As you will read in this issue of UGA Script, it was our time to celebrate the remarkable achievements of the many individuals who call this College their academic home.
One of our sustained successes was realized in April, when we were notified that our College remained in the Top 20 among the accredited 140 pharmacy schools in the country, following a survey conducted by U.S. News & World Report. Despite the economic and policy challenges faced by academic institutions across the U.S., we persevered and received a ranking of “16,” proving, once again, that the PharmDawg spirit of tenacity and determination always prevails.
Read along to celebrate with us–celebrate the accomplishments of stellar and deserving students…research discoveries conducted by faculty…alumni who are succeeding in their pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences professions…preceptors who are changing the lives of students they mentor…and so much more. I also urge you to make space to learn about and listen to the newly relaunched UGA PharmCast, our College’s podcast/videocast programming. “Sharing Voices, Telling Stories” is our tagline for this spectacular production, which features those with deep ties to our college who are shaping the future of pharmacy and pharmaceutical and biomedical sciences.
