Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication Extra! Extra! Read all about it! Thank you to the Grady College of Journalism
and Mass Communication for hosting a newsworthy team stewardship meeting. We were thrilled to hear from Dean Charles Davis and learn of Grady's growth over the years to becoming one of the top journalism and mass communications schools in the country. Founded as the School of Journalism in 1915, today Grady is thriving while preparing the next generation of communication leaders by offering undergraduate certificate programs in New Media, Sports Media, Public Affairs Communication, and more. Grady is the 3rd largest newsroom in the state of GA, as well as home to the Peabody Awards. And that is just scratching the surface!
Taejah Harper, Development Associate with Grady, gave us a comprehensive snapshot highlighting Grady's stewardship matrix. Grady takes pride in personalizing stewardship efforts with hand written letters from Dean Davis, as well as customized stewardship books. For more details on Grady's certificate programs and stewardship matrix, please refer to the Team Stewardship PowerPoint presentation.

Endowment Report Updates
Postcards have been mailed to donors with endowed funds notifying them that the University of Georgia is converting financial endowment reports from print to a digital
format. To ensure we have their current email address on file, donors can scan the QR code on the postcard or send an email directly to endowmentreports@uga.edu. A reminder email will go out at the end of October to donors to give them the opportunity to update their email address.
Also, endowment report financials by unit have been emailed to Stewies and Directors. Please take a moment to review and respond with any edits for your school, college, or unit by October 9th. Things to look for - missing funds, missing email addresses, funds that need to be removed, etc. For more information, reach out to Tonya Moore.

FY25 Fall Scholarship Gratitude Reports
Scholarship recipients who were awarded scholarships by early September for the 2024-2025 academic year have been notified to complete their gratitude reports. These reports will be sent digitally, along with financial endowment reports, to stewardship recipients in early December. If a gratitude report does not have an endowment report to accompany it, it will be printed and mailed to the stewardship recipient. For more information, reach out to Caitlin Lacey. |
Scholarship Privacy Changes in GAIL
In order to maintain compliance with privacy laws, specifically the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act and the Higher Education Act, all scholarship recipients have had their identifying scholarship name removed from the GAIL platform under the education tab. In addition, the recipient names have been removed from the scholarship fund record. Although GAIL has never had the current student recipient information recorded, we know that many of you have utilized the removed info to identify past scholarship recipients. We wanted to make sure you still had a way to know this information, so in place of the formal scholarship name under the education tab, former recipients will now have a general “UGA Scholarship Recipient” tag under the Scholarships section. You will then be able to access further details about which scholarship they received using FAME or Scholarship Universe. Each of your units has a Scholarship Universe/FAME liaison that can help you find this info.
If you have questions about changes, reach out to Jordan Dotson and Graff Wilson.
