Stewardship Spotlight

Franklin College of Arts and Sciences

THANK YOU, Franklin College of Arts and Sciences, for hosting an engaging and informative Team Stewardship at the new I-STEM Complex last month! Dean Stenport spoke on the values and vision of Franklin, the power of partnerships, and asked Stewies what they would want a dean to know about stewardship. Senior Director of Development, Meredith Metcalf, presented on the new liaison model the Franklin DAR team has adopted to promote a more collaborative environment. Director of Donor Relations and Stewardship, Mary Alston Killen, shared how Franklin is refocusing their efforts on engaging and stewarding high-level donors in more meaningful ways, while maintaining their commitment to acknowledging gifts of any size. A look into Franklin’s FY24 goals for higher-level stewardship, SWAG, and custom donor gifts can be found in the Team Stewardship PowerPoint presentation.

FY24 Central Stewardship Updates

We have several updates to the central stewardship matrix for FY24, including some new pieces!

Second Time Donor Card

Donors with two consecutive fiscal years of giving will be seeing double with this cute postcard:

Welcome Back Email

Donors who have given in the past, but missed FY23 will be welcomed back with an email expressing our thanks:

PAW Society

Faculty and staff donors will receive a small token of our gratitude in the form of this adorable (and “handy”) sticky note pad:

First Time Donor, Third Pillar, and Presidents Club stewardship will remain the same for FY24. Our updated stewardship matrix can be found here.

Signature Programs

Thanks to Amanda Brown and Jayme Bolding, we are all more knowledgeable about the processes and timelines behind 40 Under 40, Bulldog 100, and Alumni Awards. A few takeaways:

40 Under 40

Celebrates the personal, professional, and philanthropic achievements of successful UGA graduates under the age of 40. Honorees are invited to a luncheon celebration in the fall, a SkySuite at a football game, and receive notes from the Alumni Board and Affinity Groups. Continue to reach out to these honorees throughout the year and bring them back to campus!

Bulldog 100

Celebrates the top 100 fastest-growing organizations owned or led by UGA alumni. Nominations closed on July 31st with 528 nominees! An event will be held for all honorees in February 2024.

Alumni Awards

Celebrates the distinguished alumni, faculty members, and friends of UGA. The selection process is done internally. The announcement for 2024 Alumni Award honorees will be in late 2023, with an event held at Tate in April 2024.
