| MASON LECTURE SERIES KICKS OFF FALL SEMESTER |

The Mason Public Leadership Lecture is part of the Institute for Leadership Advancement's Terry Leadership Speaker Series. The lecture features prominent business leaders who have contributed significantly to their communities or spent time in a public service role. It is supported by a donation from Terry College alumnus Keith Mason (BBA '82, JD '85). Donna Hyland, President and Chief Executive Officer of Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, delivered the lecture on September 6th. Hyland has been a tireless advocate for pediatric healthcare and the children of Georgia for more than three decades. She has overseen monumental growth and achievement throughout her career. Under her leadership, Children’s is consistently ranked among the top children’s hospitals by U.S. News & World Report.

BROWN PROVIDES MENTORSHIP TO NABA STUDENTS |

Members of the National Association of Black Accountants (NABA) had the opportunity to meet with Stuart Brown (BBA '89, MAcc '89). Brown provided NABA members with advice and encouragement. The NABA Future Leaders Program helps talented students reach their full potential and envision a future as a corporate-level executive. Brown is a Terry College Alumni Board member and is passionate about paying it forward. |

Brittany McCall (BBA '09, ABJ '09, MBA '10) has been promoted to Vice President: Commercial Excellence, Pricing, Inside Sales at WestRock Company. Previously, McCall was Director of Commercial Finance and Demand Planning: Corrugated Packaging at WestRock. McCall has extensive experience working in different industries including Collegiate Athletic Administration, Sports Broadcasting and Brand Marketing. WestRock is a global leader in sustainable paper and packaging solutions, leading science and technology to move fiber-based packaging forward. By innovating for their customers, WestRock is imagining and delivering on the promise of a sustainable future.

Tyler Jones (BBA '15) has been promoted to Georgia Banking Company Griffin Market President from Vice President of Specialty Finance. Jones' experience in various industries will help propel businesses in the Griffin community, that he knows personally. Jones is based in Griffin and will be returning home to drive GBC forward and push innovation in the community banking space. GBC is a full-service, commercial community bank headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. GBC's team knows their communities and is focused on leveraging technology to deliver an exceptional service experience to meet the needs of growing businesses and private banking clients.

LAHAIE GIVES KEYNOTE AT TERRY'S DIGITAL DAY |

Adam LaHaie (BBA '12) is the Global Director of Creative Strategy (Alcohol Ventures) at The Coca-Cola Company, where he supports global network of marketers and agencies to establish and build sustaining creative platforms that introduce Coca-Cola brands to the world. LaHaie gave the opening keynote at Digital Day ATL, a digital marketing conference held annually designed to help UGA's Digital Marketing Emphasis students launch their careers. The interactive day provides attendees with an understanding of the difference between agency and brand-side careers.

SWAKE COSMETICS PARTNERS WITH ATLANTA FALCONS |

Vanessa Sachs is a UGA alumna and founder of SWAKE Cosmetics, Sweatproof Cosmetics for Lifelete. Sachs founded SWAKE in April 2022 and has participated in multiple UGA Entrepreneurship competitions, taking first prize many times. SWAKE recently teamed up with Atlanta Falcons Cheerleaders for the 2023-2024 NFL Season. The cosmetics are formulated to stay put, ensuring the wearer looks flawless no matter what. This collaboration between SWAKE and the Atlanta Falcons Cheerleaders is set to be a game-changer for both the beauty and sports worlds. SWAKE's innovative makeup solutions will ensure the cheerleaders can look radiant while cheering on the Falcons in any weather.

The September Alumni of the Day were Becca McGuire, Phillip Chason, May Fong and Mary Beth Torpey. McGuire graduated in 2021 with a BBA in Marketing and is now an SMB Client Services Specialist at TikTok. Chason graduated in 2014 with a BBA in Finance and 2022 with a MBA and JD and is an Associate Attorney in the Finance and Restructuring Group at Troutman Pepper. Fong graduated in 2020 with a BBA in Marketing and Digital Marketing emphasis, and is now an Associate Manager of Sales Strategy and Planning at Newell Brands. Torpey graduated in 2007 with a BBA in International Business and is a Consulting Director at the Virtus Solution.
Each week, we feature an Alum of the Day, where alumni share their career, company, activities they enjoy in their downtime, favorite Georgia memories, and how they choose to give back to their community. In addition to highlighting successful alumni, the goal of the Alum of the Day series is to show current Terry students the types of career opportunities that exist and give them great contacts in their industry. Don't miss your opportunity to hear from Julie Schertell, President and Chief Executive Officer of Mativ during next month's Terry Third Thursday presentation. Mativ is a new company formed in July of 2022 from the merger of SWM International and Neenah Inc., publicly traded specialty manufacturing companies. Schertell was chosen as the CEO of Mativ at the time of the merger and is focused on bringing the two organizations together, integrating the businesses and delivering transformative growth and synergies. Schertell began her career at Georgia-Pacific in 1992 working in a finance before serving in several leadership roles. Schertell received her MAcc degree from the Terry College in 1992. 10 FOR TERRY CELEBRATES 5 YEARS |

This month, we celebrate the 5th anniversary of the launch of the 10 for Terry program! 10 for Terry is a recurring monthly gift of $10 that benefits the Terry College Excellence Fund. The Excellence Fund is Dean Ayers' most versatile resource for the college to increase student learning and hiring opportunities, innovate curriculum, and recruit top talent. Since launching 10 for Terry in October 2018, more than 1,200 donors have signed up. The program is now contributing $100,000 annually to the Terry Excellence Fund - all from $10 gifts! Leadership Dawgs is a leadership development program, available only to UGA Alumni, that teaches personal and professional leadership. The program, which includes two onsite weekends at the Terry Executive Education Center in Atlanta, challenges UGA alums to unlock their potential to Maximize, Optimize, Cultivate and Create Impact. Participants in the Leadership Dawgs program are selected from nominations by UGA staff and alumni who recognize their leadership abilities. Leadership Dawgs is housed in the Institute for Leadership Advancement. Nominate yourself or a UGA alum for the next cohort.
