TERRY ALUMNI OPEN PRINCE MARKET IN DOWNTOWN ATHENS |
Ryan Vetter (BBA RMI '20) and Saajan Patel (BBA Finance '20) are lifelong friends who teamed up to create a shopping destination for the Athens community where everyone is welcome. Vetter and Patel recently opened Prince Market, conveniently located on Prince Avenue in downtown Athens. Prince Market is a one-stop-shop, as you can find everything from conventional items to vegan meals and organic produce. The market also offers a full-service coffee shop and deli. Vetter and Patel credit the foundational education the College provided them to being able to navigate the challenges presented when opening a business.

TERRY ALUMNI RECOGNIZED AT UGA BULLDOG 100
The University of Georgia's Division of Development & Alumni Relations recently recognized the fastest-growing companies owned or led by UGA alumni during the annual Bulldog 100 celebration February 9. Terry alumni represent more than 60% of the 100 companies. The Bulldog 100 companies were ranked solely based on their three-year compounded annual growth rates. The Atlanta office of Warren Averett CPAs and Advisors—a Bulldog 100 partner since the program began in 2009—verifies the information submitted by each company and determines the ranked list. On average, companies in the 2024 Bulldog 100 grew by 67 percent each year from 2020-2022, the highest growth rate in the 15-year history of the program.
The 2024 fastest-growing business, Altera Investments, was founded and is led by David Fershteyn (BBA '17), CEO, Carlos Alcala (BBA '17), CFO and Mitch Reiner (BBA '05), Board Member. Altera Investments is based in Atlanta and is an alternative investment firm focused on the lower middle market. To learn more about Altera and the rest of the Bulldog 100 winners, read here.

Since graduating from the Terry College of Business in 1985 with a degree in finance, Gina Drosos has not slowed down. In 2017 she was named the first female CEO of Signet Jewelers, the world’s largest retailer of diamond jewelry. Prior to that, she spent 30 years in executive leadership roles in the consumer goods, beauty and health care industries. In her career, she has received numerous awards and recognitions, most recently being recognized as one of the Top 50 Women CEOs of 2022 by Women We Admire.
Throughout her business career, she has made it a priority to support the university through scholarships, speaking engagements, mentoring students and visiting campus to cheer on the Dawgs. Both of Gina’s children followed her legacy and graduated from the Terry College. As graduation gifts for Will and Claire, she honored them by creating professorship funds in their areas of choice: religion and sociology.
At Terry, Gina supported the Building Terry Campaign by naming the Virginia Coleman Drosos Family classroom in Ivester Hall, she is currently serving her 10th year on the Terry Dean’s Advisory Council and we are excited to host Gina as this year’s Terry Graduate Convocation speaker. We appreciate Gina’s commitment to our students, our university, and the mission of the Terry College of Business. |
