The Terry College is thrilled to announce a new entity that will lead our comprehensive efforts in analytics: the M. Douglas and V. Kay Ivester Institute for Business Analytics and Insights. Named for Doug Ivester (BBA ’69) and his wife, Kay, the institute will not only augment analytics instruction at Terry, but also provide key resources for empirical research and be a hub for the college to disseminate analytics expertise to our stakeholders. A dedication ceremony was held Friday, November 22 to honor the Ivesters and officially open the institute.

LAUBE HONORED AS DISTINGUISHED ALUMNUS |

William Laube (BBA '77), known to all as Billy, was honored by St. Pius X Catholic High School with the 2024 Distinguished Alumnus Award. Laube has been a loyal alumnus for over 50 years, graduating in 1972, and is known for his lifelong dedication to service, leadership, and community engagement. His time at Terry helped shape the leadership and professional skills that fueled his 25-year career with Macy’s in New York, where he led division-winning initiatives like the Bag Hunger Competition. Beyond his professional achievements, Laube embodies the values of pride, integrity, unity, and sacrifice, which he continues to demonstrate through his commitment to his alma maters and community. Laube and his wife, Lisa (BBA '85), established the Billy '72 and Lisa Laube Scholarship at St. Pius X, providing opportunities for students in need and reflecting his dedication to giving back.

LINGINFELTER ANNOUNCES RETIREMENT FROM REGIONS BANK |
|
|
|
Bill Linginfelter (BBA '78) will retire from Regions Bank at the end of the year, after 16 years of service and more than 46 years in banking. He currently serves as the company's Atlanta market executive and Commercial Banking regional executive for Georgia and the Carolinas. His leadership helped expand the bank’s footprint, fostering strong client relationships and community engagement. Through his strategic vision, Linginfelter has positioned Regions as a leading financial institution in the region. Linginfelter joined Regions in 2008, following leadership roles at other financial institutions. His career began in 1978 at Fulton National Bank, a predecessor of Bank of America. Linginfelter has also served as Chair of the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce, The Georgia Chamber, and the Georgia Research Alliance boards.
Linginfelter graduated in 1978 with a BBA in Accounting.

MORRIS NAMED OUTSTANDING ATLANTA HONOREE |

|
Kiana Morris (MBA '14) has been named a 2024 Outstanding Atlanta honoree, for her community involvement. The Outstanding Atlanta organization recognizes ten young professionals between the ages of 21 and 40 for distinguishing themselves in their careers and service to Atlanta's community. Honorees hold key positions in business, politics, education, non-profit organizations, volunteer, and charitable endeavors. Morris is the Chief Strategy Office for Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC), where she monitors the Center's strategic direction and priorities. Morris received a Master of Business Administration in 2014 and served on the Terry College Young Alumni Board from 2016-2019.

RECENT GRADUATE COMPETES ON BUY IT NOW SHOW |

Matthew Tesvich (BBA '23) is the Co-Founder and CEO of Skunk Skin, science-based socks designed to neutralize foot odor. Tesvich's personal battle with stinky feet inspired him to create this unique product. Skunk Skin's success was spotlighted on Buy It Now, a new competition show on Prime Video, where Tesvich showcased the product to a panel of judges and a live audience of 100 customers. The show challenges entrepreneurs to pitch their ideas in just 90 seconds, emphasizing the product's popularity and problem-solving potential. Tesvich graduated with a degree in Management Information Systems and an Entrepreneurship Certificate in 2023. The Entrepreneurship Program provided mentorship and resources to refine his business model.

KELLY RECOGNIZED AS TOP 500 MOST INFLUENCIAL LEADERS |

Lisa Kelly (BBA '81) has been named one of Georgia's Most Influential Leaders in the 2024 Georgia 500 issue of Georgia Trend magazine. The Georgia 500 recognition reflects Kelly's transformative work with the two flagship tax credit organizations that are advancing K-12 education and rural healthcare in Georgia. Kelly is the Founding Executive Director and present Senior Advisor to the Georgia GOAL Scholarship Program and Georgia HEART Hospital Program. Under Kelly's leadership, Georgia GOAL has opened doors for tens of thousands of students across the state, empowering families with access to private K-12 education options for their children. With over 25 years of experience in public accounting and business, Kelly has brought valuable expertise to her work. Kelly graduated in 1981 with a BBA in Accounting.

BROWN NAMED TO GEORGIA TREND 40 UNDER 40 LIST |

Maranie Brown (MBT '23) has been named to the Georgia Trend 40 Under 40 list, recognized for her professional success and dedication to community service. As Vice President of Data Product Delivery at BlackRock and an alumna of Terry’s Master of Business and Technology program, Brown exemplifies leadership and excellence. Her volunteer work includes key roles with organizations like HOPE Atlanta, Ser Familia, and United Way of Greater Atlanta, focusing on education, poverty alleviation, and economic empowerment. Her achievements and service inspire the Terry College community.

Douglas Ivester (BBA '69) graduated from the University of Georgia with a bachelor’s degree in accounting in 1969. His long and successful career at The Coca-Cola Company was capped by his selection as chairman of the board and CEO. Now retired from Coca-Cola, Doug presides over Deer Run Investments, is an emeritus trustee of the University of Georgia Foundation and is the director of the Melvin Douglas & Victoria Kay Ivester Foundation. Through the Melvin Douglas & Victoria Kay Ivester Foundation, they have been steadfast supporters of the University of Georgia, the Terry College of Business, and educational and cultural initiatives in Hall County, Georgia.
Over the past decade, Doug and Kay have devoted a significant amount of their time to supporting and guiding the Deer Run Fellows Program on behalf of the Terry College. This unique, capstone experience has been one of the most formative for the hundreds of Terry students who were chosen to be Fellows. More recently, they established the Deer Run Global Fellows program, which provides study abroad scholarships for Terry students from Hall County, Georgia, and on November 22, 2024, we celebrated the dedication of the M. Douglas and V. Kay Ivester Institute for Business Analytics and Insights!
The Terry College is proud to have the Ivester name associated with educational excellence and honored throughout the Business Learning Community through the namings of Ivester Hall and the Ivester Auditorium.
The Ivester’s generous philanthropic support of the Terry College of Business not only strengthens its mission but also ensures a lasting legacy of excellence, empowering future generations of leaders and fostering a commitment to community and success for years to come. The November Alumni of the Day were Bryce Trammell, Madeline Lee, and Wesley Bacastow. Trammell graduated in 2018 with a BBA in Finance and is the Associate Vice President of Finance at Aveanna Healthcare. Lee graduated in 2018 with a BBA in Risk Management and Insurance and is a Senior Safety Professional with Disney Experiences, a segment of The Walt Disney World Company. Bacastow graduated in 2020 with a BBA in Finance and Real Estate and is an Associate at PCCP LLC.

The Mary Virginia Terry Student Support Fund was established in 2013 to honor the inspirational leadership of educational and cultural philanthropist Mary Virginia Terry. The fund annually supports financial awards for undergraduate business majors and are presented at the Terry College Professional Women’s Conference. The awards may be utilized for domestic or international travel (including study abroad programs), books, conference fees, tuition, professional development, and career advancement. Congratulations to this year's recipients (left to right): Princess Asenuga (BBA '26), Halle Bynum (BBA '24), Daedre Davis (BBA '24), Jordan Haynes (BBA '26), Nishat Nayla (BBA '25), and Daisy Villalpando (BBA '25).
