TESTIMONIALS

Shona Wilson, Mentee (BSED '20) talks about her connection with Mentor Meredith Adamczyk (BA '07)

Mentorship for Life

“Meredith and I connected when I was unemployed not too long out of graduation. We talked about everything from the industry I wanted to be in to potential jobs, and she put me in contact with friends. Not only was Meredith great in connecting me with people and companies, but she was also a great person to celebrate accomplishments with, as well as just a friend through a tough time in my life.”

-Shona Wilson, UGA Mentee

TIPS & TRICKS

Have You Updated Your UGA Mentor Profile?

Here are some best practices to ensure your profile makes you a mentor students look to request:

  1. Upload an image of yourself to your profile.
  2. Consider adding your demographic information. Students are requesting mentors based on identity and interests.
  3. Have you opted-in to provide informational interviews? Some students need to dip their toe into the water of networking before committing to a mentorship. With informational interviews, students can now connect with you for 30-minute informational interviews that will help them ask their work, life and career-related questions and determine if it is a good mentoring match. Click here to learn more ! By opening yourself up to informational interviews, you might have a greater chance of a student reaching out to connect.
