Fall on a college campus is full of new beginnings. This is certainly true for the McBee Institute this year. Meigs Hall is as bustling as ever. We welcomed new Ph.D. and master's students, new faculty and staff members, new advisers in the Georgia College Advising Corps, and new fellows in the Governor's Teaching Fellows program. After years of planning and preparation, we also launched an asynchronous online master's program and our inaugural cohort has already completed their first course.
As we look ahead to this academic year, the McBee Institute will continue several efforts to promote the value of higher education. I had the honor of leading our Executive Ed.D. cohort to Washington D.C. this summer, where we met with several experts and agencies who participated in the Momentum & Barriers symposium last spring. We learned about current policy efforts and laid the groundwork for continued engagement with these long-standing partners and, hopefully, a few new ones.

|
In addition to these collective efforts, our faculty, staff, and students continue to add value to higher education through their innovative research projects, rigorous scholarly publications, constructive professional engagement, and supportive mentoring. You will read about some of these efforts in this issue and can learn more in the coming weeks in the 2025 McBee Report.
Thank you again for your engagement and support. Please continue to share your news with us and we look forward to seeing you back on campus, at the ASHE conference, or elsewhere in the months ahead.
