Hello, Grady College alumni,
Do you remember how difficult it was to navigate your first internship or job? Or, how scary it felt to finally enter the real world? As the Alumni Board’s Student Engagement Committee, we are committed to helping students connect with alumni. The UGA Mentor Program is a great opportunity to reach back and help our students who are now in the same position you once were. We are grateful to all of our alumni who participate in program.
Just in time for National Mentoring Month, we are excited to announce an opportunity to connect with our students through “Quick Chat".
Quick Chat is a new feature within the UGA Mentor Program, and is similar to an informational interview (name rebranded to “Quick Chat” to better resonate with students). An informational interview, as defined by the UGA Career Guide, is an opportunity for students to spend time with a professional like yourself in a career field of interest.
These interviews or chats may help students as they explore their post-grad options, such as considering a job in a new city or pursuing a graduate degree. Quick Chat can also help students build their network, tap into the hidden job market and learn unpublished details about a specific company, organization or school.
Through Quick Chat, you can connect with students through the UGA Mentor Program website wherever you have internet access. I hope you will join the alumni board in making yourself available to students. To sign up, please complete your profile here.
We know you are very busy and would like to thank you in advance for the time you’re taking to give back to students!
Best Regards,
Ryan Carty (ABJ ’09, MED ’13)
