Humanities & Arts Opportunities

Willson Center Public Impact Grants

Amount: Up to $10,000

Supports faculty in organizing on-campus conferences, exhibitions, and performances that showcase humanities and arts research.

 

Willson Center Short-Term Visiting Fellowships

Amount: $5,000

Deadline: Oct. 25

Brings distinguished scholars, artists, and performers to UGA’s arts and humanities community. Individuals or groups may nominate Visiting Fellows who contribute to intellectual life on campus.

 

UGA Arts Collaborative Mini Grants

Amount: Up to $750 plus project mentorship

Deadline: N/A

Supports new creative interdisciplinary projects and modes of collaboration. Teams must include participants from multiple academic departments and include a UGA student or faculty member as primary contact.

 

NEH: Collaborative Research Grants

Amount: Up to $250,000

Deadline: Nov. 20

Supports teams of scholars working on joint endeavors that lead to manuscripts for print or digital publication.

Team Science

Team Impact Award Nominations Due Nov. 1

Recognizes excellence in innovative and impactful scholarship that could fundamentally advance knowledge, understanding, and/or applications in ways not achievable by individual investigators or single disciplinary approaches alone. Nominations should be submitted by the team leader through UGA’s InfoReady Portal by Nov. 1.

 

International Collaborative Research Award Nominations Due Nov. 1

Recognizes an international team for excellence in innovative and impactful scholarship addressing significant societal challenges and not achievable without international collaboration. Nominations accepted through UGA’s InfoReady Portal through Nov. 1.

Nuss elected to Mastership in American College of Physicians

Dr. Shelley Nuss, campus dean of the Augusta University/University of Georgia Medical Partnership and founding dean of the UGA School of Medicine, has been elected to Mastership status in the American College of Physicians.

 

Andrea Sikora Guest Edits a Critical Care Issue of AJHP

Andrea Sikora, clinical associate professor at the extended campus in Augusta, is the guest editor for a Critical Care theme issue of "The American Journal of Health-System Pharmacists” published in July.

The Office of Research maintains a list of external honors and awards to encourage faculty applications.

UGA New Materials Institute, ACCGov pilot study diverts 19 tons of organic materials to composting

A pilot program co-managed by researchers from the UGA New Materials Institute to study curbside collection of food scrap and other organic waste in Athens-Clarke County resulted in more than 19 tons of collected material in three months, along with the community’s desire for more.
