Celebrating Women in March UGA named Eugenia Harvey (ABJ '82) the inaugural recipient of the Footsteps Award. The award recognizes a UGA graduate who follows in the footsteps of UGA’s first enrolled Black students and first Black graduate by making a significant positive impact in human rights, race relations or education in their community. UGA's Eta Xi Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., gave a total of $50,000+ to establish a scholarship to provide need-based aid to UGA students in perpetuity.
