Core Initiatives Updates 

• The User Advisory Group participated in a multi-session SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) analysis of our current use of working titles and the potential impacts of changing how they’re used.
• The clean up of blank position descriptions in UGAJobs is now complete, pending some final updates.

• Working to develop training classes for staff supervisors and faculty supervisors on the Journeys Staff Competency Model. The goal of these trainings is to prepare supervisors to evaluate staff using the Staff Competency Model.

• As of January 29th, 1881 staff members have completed the Staff Competency Model training. Additional training sessions have been scheduled via Zoom for February.

Question of the Month

QUESTION: Will there be a version of the Staff Competency Model training for Supervisors? Who is eligible to attend? When will this training be available?

ANSWER: Yes! A supervisor focused training on the Staff Competency Model is being developed. We expect trainings to be available starting in March. The standalone Staff Competency Model training for supervisors will only be available to individuals with direct reports.

For individuals who do not currently supervise, you can sign up for Supervisor Fundamentals which will incorporate the Staff Competency Model training for supervisors.

For HR Liaisons who are interested in taking the training but don’t supervise, please reach out to learnanddev@uga.edu.
