This second edition of Inside the Arch highlights a few examples of that broad impact and includes a brief interview about the opportunities before us this academic year.

Hiring initiative builds on record of success

UGA is continuing its strategic investment in faculty through the latest Presidential Faculty Hiring Initiative. Building on years of successful recruitment efforts, the initiative will help the university attract leading scholars, strengthen teaching and research, and respond to the evolving needs of students.

Inaugural class begins medical training focused on serving Georgia

The UGA School of Medicine has welcomed its inaugural class of 64 students, marking a major milestone in the university’s history. With 95% of the class hailing from Georgia, the school is beginning its mission to strengthen the state’s physician workforce and expand access to care, particularly in underserved communities.

Investing in student success and well-being

New and renovated spaces across UGA are giving students more opportunities to live, learn, connect, and access support. From a new first-year residence hall and Dining, Learning, and Well-being Center to improvements at Legion Field, the Tate Student Center, and Ramsey Student Center, these investments are designed to support student success both inside and outside the classroom.
