Greetings from the new dean of the University of Georgia School of Law. My first 100 days have been a whirlwind! I have had the joy of connecting with so many of you in the law school community. I have made trips to cities like Washington, D.C., San Francisco, New York City, New Orleans and Savannah, in addition to meeting with many of you closer to home in Athens and Atlanta. And I have found enthusiasm for and dedication to our law school at every stop in my journey.
Other highlights of the past 100 days include the law school proudly hosting the Georgia Supreme Court for oral arguments on our beautiful campus. Additionally, former U.S. Deputy Attorney General and Sibley Professor Larry Thompson delivered the Sibley Lecture, former U.S. Court of Appeals Judge Beverly Martin (J.D.’81) delivered the Edith House Lecture, and U.S. Court of Appeals Judge Steven Higginson and Georgia Supreme Court Justice Charlie Bethel (J.D.’01) served as the Edenfield and Hines Jurists in Residence (respectively).
We remain ranked among the top law schools in the country by U.S. News & World Report. Other ways UGA Law is redefining what it means to be a great national public law school follow. Thank you for your ongoing support and your role in our success!
