Giving Day + Email Blackout

Giving Day is 2 Days Away | March 31st

The Office of Annual Giving is requesting an EMAIL BLACKOUT for alumni and donors from March 10 – 31 in preparation for our first-ever university-wide Giving Day on March 31. Constituents could receive as many as 5 emails on Giving Day, and this blackout period is a best practice recommended by other institutions who have been successful with giving days.

Giving Day will support all areas of campus, and we’re asking colleagues to help us make it successful. Thank you in advance for all that you’re doing to support Giving Day!

Please refrain from creating direct marketing efforts and events in GAIL on March 31 due to an expected higher than normal volume of incoming donations and outbound emails for Giving Day.

Please contact Heather Duiser if you have any questions or concerns.

Dark Mode Preview in BEE

Whenever you get to the point where you’d like to see what your email is going to look like, there is a preview option built into BEE. Recently added is the option to see how your email will display for users who have dark mode enabled on their device. Learn more about the feature and how to access it here.

Guidelines for Submitting Excel Files to ASKIT

Do you need to share an excel spreadsheet with your ASKIT ticket? Please follow these guidelines to ensure the data is kept secure and making it to the right place.

Advanced Search Options

The constituent search tool features several search fields including name, lookup id, constituency, and address to help you find the record of an individual, group or organization. A bonus feature is that the search options you choose are sticky, the system will remember your settings with every new search you conduct (until such time you make changes to which options you select). Check out these tips for making your Constituent Searches more successful.

Verify Email Communication Preferences

We'd like to remind everyone when you're creating, or copying, an email in BEE, that you need to verify that the correct Communication Preferences are selected for your school, college, unit, or department. Click here for a quick overview.

Activate Email Efforts Before Sending Email

Please remember to activate your marketing efforts as soon as possible so that incoming donations can be properly linked to the effort as they are received. For email efforts only, the process is to check the export data, activate, then send the final email. Please click here for full details.
