Receives the Sahm Award

The UGA School of Social Work has received the Sahm Award for its partnership with Farm to Neighborhood’s HEALTHYouth program, which builds sustainable healthy eating habits in elementary and middle school youth by providing nutrition education that teaches hands-on skills along with healthy meal planning and budgeting tips. Creating a universal definition of human trafficking

CenHTRO is partnering with three United Nations agencies to develop universal measurement tools that harmonize how human trafficking is defined at the local and global scale. Read more.

Capstone Symposium

The Capstone Symposium held on March 30 by UGA School of Social Work seniors was a resounding success, showcasing their impressive dedication and hard work. Through their capstone projects, these aspiring social workers tackled social issues in the community, exhibiting their expertise and skills in the field and emphasizing their unwavering commitment to creating a positive impact on society. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to the UGA School of Social Work seniors and wish them every success as they embark on their professional careers.

Congratulations to Dr. Caroline Sharkey on successfully defending her dissertation. Dr. Sharkey also received UGA's Naomi Norman Creative BSW Teacher of the Year award for innovative andragogy/pedagogy and praxis. Read her recent student spotlight here.
