SSW Uses Child Welfare Grant to Further the Education of DFCS leaders Thanks to a four-year, $650,000 grant, our Title IV-E Child Welfare program is providing Georgia DFCS leadership with social work training. SSW faculty Anna Scheyett has launched a new blog, Thriving on the Farm, in a partnership between the UGA School of Social Work, UGA Cooperative Extension, and UGA College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences. Krishma Gajurel, a graduate research assistant, has been working on several research projects related to debt lending, mental health, and social welfare policy. In addition to her research work, she co-founded Digo Nepal, a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering women and children in Nepal by providing education, healthcare, and support. Gajurel's research and community work reflect her commitment to making a positive impact in society and inspiring the next generation of change-makers. Read more

Bryan Schroeder (MA ’06), a 2023 Bulldog 100 winner, is the Executive Director of Giving Kitchen, which helps food service workers in crisis through financial assistance and a connection to community resources. Headquartered in Atlanta, Giving Kitchen has helped over 10,000 food service workers in crisis, provided over $7 million in financial aid, and prevented over $11 million in excess costs. Bulldog 100 recognizes the 100 fastest-growing businesses owned or operated by UGA alum.
