Alumni Participation Rate (APR) Update

Cue the ? confetti cannons ?: UGA has achieved 16% APR again this year with the recent addition of the license tag donors! A huge congratulations to the entire division on this exciting achievement and thank you all for your tireless efforts. It takes an entire team to achieve this lofty goal and we could not do it without every single person in DAR. Of course, we are keeping our foot on the gas pedal and will continue bringing in those APR donors until we hit the finish line. APR questions? Email Heather Duiser.

Manage Email for Your Unit? Please Read.

DARCOMM, the Office of Annual Giving and Advancement IT are partnering to "warm" a new IP address from which to send emails. "Warming" helps to establish UGA as reputable email sender to avoid spam blocks. The IP warming process takes ~30 days and requires "trickling out" the emails over several days.

If you manage emails for your unit, you may notice several emails in June-August that appear to fall over numerous days—these are the IP warming messages. Please avoid scheduling large emails on those days if it can be avoided. We realize this is a long period of time, though, and the teams will be doing the utmost to avoid conflicts. If you have questions or concerns, please email Elizabeth Elmore and Buck Sharp.

The annual Teresa Harris Guthrie Award recognizes a student employee who has made a positive impact on DAR through the demonstration of one or more DAR values. The 2023 recipient is Tanvi Pucha, a team assistant with the UGA Career Center. Read more about this outstanding student.

Odum School Launches Alumni Board

The Odum School has announced its first Alumni Board of Members beginning July 1. The 13 members will serve staggered terms from 1-3 years, and leadership will be chosen this fall. Committees include Development, Student Programs, and Nominating. The board will meet virtually four times per year, including a visit to campus Oct. 12-15 for an annual meeting and alumni event. Meet the Alumni Board.

Parents Leadership Council Raises > $1 Million

The Parents Leadership Council surpassed its 2022-2023 fundraising goal by raising over $1 million, a record for the group. The PLC Grants Program started with  approx. 1,150 families that awarded ~$145,000 annually to 22 organizations. Today, 250 families each contribute $5,000+ annually. Over 11 years, the council has received roughly 670 grant applications and awarded more than $5.7 million. Questions? Email Brittany Rider.

Strategic Initiatives Reporting

Tyler Daniels has been contacting units in June to prepare for strategic reporting season. We will collect data on annual performance for FY23 KPI’s and define annual targets for FY24-25. FY23 KPI’s will be reported for the Senior Administrators' Update in July, the UGA Strategic Plan in August, and the DAR Strategic Plan.
