It feels pretty good to be sending our first 2023 Pulse to a division of NATIONAL CHAMPIONS—Go Dawgs!
Earlier this month, many of you played a role in engaging with and stewarding alumni and donors around the championship game. Thank you for your quick and dedicated work as I realize it was a fast turnaround coming on the heels of the holiday season. Our efforts paid off and hopefully the momentum created by the win will have a positive effect on our fundraising and engagement goals for the year. As we enter the second half of the fiscal year, please continue to innovate, collaborate and serve each other in all that we do. We're stronger when we work together and I appreciate it most when team members consider creative and new approaches to the work we do.
Please let me know if there is anything I can do this winter/spring to support you or your team. Thank you! |

New Marketing & Fundraising Campaign |
DAR is launching a new focus on fundraising that will carry our efforts into 2025. This differs from the Commit to Georgia Campaign in that it will not be publicly communicated as a fundraising campaign—internally, though, it will operate as such. DARCOMM will be providing new marketing resources, refreshing give.uga.edu, and pursuing additional advertising opportunities to communicate the new messaging. The tagline for the campaign will be "For Georgia. For Generations." A visual direction and other resources will be rolled out in the coming weeks and months. Questions? Email Elizabeth Elmore.

DAR is in the Budget Request Review phase of budget planning. During this phase, unit leaders meet with DAR Operations to present their budgets for FY24. In early February, all unit leaders will meet with the Office of the Vice President to present and discuss their proposed budgets together.
This is a new strategic approach designed to increase collaboration and innovation across the division. The ideas proposed by DAR Huddles also will be included in the budget discussions. Many Huddle strategies/ideas are already being implemented, including increased support for our new Advancement Information Technology office and a new Associate Regional Director position
to support efforts in New York City/Northeast, a geographic strategic area of focus for DAR in FY24. Questions about budgeting? Email Emily Czaplinski. Questions about the Huddles for DAR Strategic Plan? Email Tyler Daniels.

Allie White and Maura Springstead helped produce this TikTok video that has garnered the second-most views (588,000) for the UGA Alumni account behind this Freshman Welcome video (902,000)
. TikTok is a relatively new social platform that DAR is using to engage with alumni, students and others in the UGA community in hopes of continuing them down our path of commitment. UGA Alumni has the most followers of any SEC alumni organization and has far greater engagement than the main UGA TikTok account.

Mailman to Mailman Wayne Knight (BFA '08), who played Newman on Seinfeld, sent a special message of congratulations to Stetson Bennett following our win in the national championship. |
ChatGPT Many in the division have been chatting about the future of our work as AI (artificial intelligence) becomes a more prominent topic in the news. Our very own Greg Harmelink showed the power of ChatGPT in developing a mission statement for DAR ... and the result is pretty entertaining. Enjoy! |
