Try a little gratitude

The Stew: News for Stewardship Professionals

Spring from Giving to Thanking!

Happy April, Stewies! First, congratulations for a triumphant Giving Day. My team and I enjoyed a lively day watching dollars and donors roll in. Hearing cheers and thanking One Press Place donors in real time made for a fun first Giving Day. Due to the hard work and collaboration of all of our DAR teams, we have over 9,000 gifts to steward! To our units, it was a pleasure to see what you were doing campus-wide. The dedication, creativity, and excitement put into your efforts paid off with a wildly successful outcome. Well done!

Now, it’s time for GRATITUDE! We are thrilled to host Thank a Donor Day on April 21st at Tate Plaza! It’s our favorite day of the year! Thank you in advance to all of our volunteers. Your efforts with TADD are so appreciated. This is our red-letter day of gratitude, and our student involvement makes a meaningful and lasting impact on UGA donors! We can’t wait to see everyone there!

Spring is also a time of year that brings us scholarship events and donor-student connections. Our shop is ramping up to engage our donors with personalized experiences and we know that you are, too! Your work furthers our goal of making sure every Bulldog is committed to Georgia. While our end success is measured in dollars raised, don’t forget the crucial part that your stewardship plays in the fundraising cycle. Stewardship strengthens bonds with donors, hopefully leading to even greater future giving. Exceptional stewardship is a vital component of our continued, record-breaking success!

We look forward to seeing everyone at our next Team Stewardship on May 3rd. Kim Brown and our friends at Driftmier are engineering a wonderful meeting!

College of Pharmacy

Our Pharm Dawgs received over 100 gifts on Giving Day! The team at Pharmacy encouraged faculty and staff giving with coffee and breakfast and successfully promoted their Senior Legacy gift campaign throughout the day.

For more information, reach out to Emily Clary.

College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences

Ag Dawgs utilized the CAES Student Philanthropy Council to promote Giving Day at Conner Hall, and the best Giving Day success was Dean Place's playful social media presence! We were thrilled to see a dean buy into Giving Day by "Calling all Ag Dawgs" in the video above, and we were tickled to see who was on the other end of the line.

For more information, reach out to Laura Wilkerson.

College of Engineering

We love to see what our friends at Engineering are doing, and the Giving Day setup at Driftmier did not disappoint! With swag, donuts, and an afternoon treat from Pelican Snoballs, Engineering promoted Senior Signature and rang in over 200 qualifying Giving Day gifts.

Stewardship Spirit: Daynes won MOST SPIRITED!

Donor Relations and Stewardship is very proud that our newest Stewie, Daynes Parker, was recognized by the Giving Day hospitality team as the Most Spirited in One Press Place! Daynes jumped into Giving Day with a collaborative and energetic spirit, and our stewardship war room was a place of laughter and productivity because of it! Thanks for celebrating Daynes's contribution to Giving Day!

More money, more gratitude: Giving Day Stewardship

Kudos to IT, DARCOMM, Annual Giving, and Advancement Services for sending over 1 million emails on Giving Day. Our marketing efforts and social presence made for an over 9000 gift splash! Donor Relations will mail the acknowledgements stuffed on Giving Day to $5+ Giving Day qualifying donors excluding payroll deduction, recurring gift, and Hartman Fund gifts.

For more information, reach out to Daynes Parker.

Third Pillar Stickers

Alas, our Third Pillar magnet remains a sticker through the fiscal year. We have received many comments from donors who look forward to their acknowledgement every year. This card is mailed monthly, and all following mailings will include a note that explains the shortage.

For more information, reach out to Daynes Parker.
