Situated on 250 acres in Perry, Georgia, next to the Georgia National Fairgrounds and Agricenter

CAES Associate Dean for Research Harsha Thippareddi receiving a scroll from SAAS president Youming Cai. |
| -
A delegation from Shanghai Academy of Agricultural Sciences (SAAS) in China, led by its president, Youming Cai, visited CAES on June 10 to renew their commitment to the longstanding collaborative relationship CAES and SAAS have held since 2006. The SAAS delegation included representatives from two of the 10 research institutes of SAAS: Agri-food Standard and Testing Technology
(ASTT) and Forestry and Pomology Research. To date, collaboration between CAES and SAAS has focused on food safety, trade and sustainable agriculture. CAES has hosted visiting scientists from SAAS in food science and technology and crop and soil sciences. Recently, Qingguo (Jack) Huang hosted a SAAS scientist to work on innovative technologies for PFAS remediation. Former CAES Dean Scott Angle and recently-retired Koehler-Ayres Professor
Yen-Con Hung were awarded the Shanghai Magnolia Silver Award in 2015 and 2010, respectively. The award, given by the Shanghai government, recognizes foreigners who have made outstanding social, economic and cultural contributions to the city. Plans are underway to hold virtual meetings between groups of CAES and SAAS scientists engaged in related research to identify potential hosts for research exchange between the institutions.
