Dr. Laura Perry Johnson is retiring after 35 years of service and leaving a legacy at CAES and UGA Extension.
“As I reflect on my career, and especially the last ten years as associate dean for Extension, I look back and see how my upbringing on a farm and my involvement in 4-H paved the path for this amazing profession that blends agriculture and education.” said Dr. Johnson. With almost 2,200 people in attendance you can tell their families and loved ones were #AgDawgProud. UGA-Tifton campus celebrated their graduates as well as their 20th anniversary of graduating students from the campus. There was an amazing mural unveiling earlier that week that made the South Georgia news!
Dean Place said, "What we hope that this conveys is the strong connection of the UGA Tifton Campus with the University of Georgia at large, and that this place is a very special place and it’s an opportunity for young people to come here to study and to learn about things that are really pertinent and important to south Georgia." You can check out photos from the graduation and alumni BBQ here. |
