Amy Janvier Feature

Honoring Amy Janvier and Her Impact

Amy Joy Janvier was a second-year master's degree student in the Department of Entomology when she tragically passed away. Her life and research has impacted many, and now because of her family's generosity, future students will be helped in Amy's honor.

“Amy was something of a force of nature. A serious student,” said Kris Braman, professor and head of the CAES Department of Entomology. After Amy Janvier's passing, her family established the Amy Joy Janvier Study Abroad Scholarship Fund, providing study-abroad scholarship support for junior or senior undergraduate entomology students.

Harris shares how the center is driving collaboration and research across various disciplines to tackle these challenges head-on while supporting future academic programming that will open educational and career pathways for students eager to shape the future of urban agriculture.
