Cultivate: JoHannah Biang

JoHannah Biang (BSA - Horticulture, ’09; MS - Horticulture, ’12; PhD - Crop and Soil Science, ’24) manages UGArden, which teaches students how to grow food using sustainable practices.

“Growing your own food can be a very empowering experience," said Biang. "Not only do you learn what it takes to grow that food, harvest it and prepare it, but you also learn more about yourself and who you are."
