Our very own C. Robin Buell has been named the 2026 Southeastern Conference Professor of the Year — the conference’s highest faculty honor.
As the Georgia Research Alliance Eminent Scholar Chair in Crop Genomics, Professor Buell's research focuses on unlocking the full potential of plants to: ▪️Improve agricultural efficiency, ▪️Develop sustainable biofuels,
▪️And create crops that thrive in changing environments. |

Congratulations to
Papa Mountain who secured the grand prize in the 2026 Flavor of Georgia food product competition for its product, Garlic and Herb Bread Rolls, rising to the top of 180 products entered in 12 categories.
Flavor of Georgia is a contest for established or market-ready foods and beverages made in the state hosted by the department of food science and technology at CAES. It serves as the state’s proving ground for small, upstart food companies as well as established products looking for recognition or new markets. More than 2,410 products have been entered into the contest since 2007. |

| We have so much to celebrate from the 2026 Dawg Day of Giving!
This year, CAES received 383 gifts from 443 donors, raising more than $37,186! The momentum continued with an additional $1,000 secured for the CAES Student Emergency Fund during the 11:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. power hour and $500 earned through the social media challenge.
