Savor the State: A Flavor of Georgia Tasting Experience is an event that gives the community a tasty opportunity to meet the 2025 Flavor of Georgia finalists and to sample and purchase their products! All attendees are invited to watch the awards ceremony as winners are selected from each of the twelve categories beginning at 5:30 p.m.

Lohitash Karumbaiah (PhD '07), a UGA alumnus and associate professor, has journeyed from agricultural biotechnology in India to groundbreaking research in regenerative bioscience by way of the University of Georgia's College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences. Now leading the Translational Glycomaterials and Neural Repair Laboratory at UGA's Regenerative Bioscience Center, Karumbaiah focuses on innovative ways to help the brain heal itself after traumatic injuries and diseases. 

The 69^th Annual UGA CAES Alumni Association Awards and Georgia Agricultural Hall of Fame Celebration took place on Friday, March 21 at the Classic Center in Athens, GA. It was a special evening recognizing our outstanding alumni and the 2025 Georgia Agricultural Hall of Fame inductees.

We invite you to save-the-date for the 70^th Annual UGA CAES Alumni Association Awards Celebration taking place on Friday, March 20, 2026. Nominations for the 2026 Alumni Awards and Agricultural Hall of Fame will open next month.

We are thrilled to share the comprehensive impact summary that highlights our latest efforts in teaching, research and Extension, along with key metrics from the previous year. From groundbreaking research and community outreach to educating the next generation of leaders in agricultural and environmental sciences, the 2025 State of Solutions offers a powerful look at our collective impact and serves as an inspiring reminder that—together—we are making a lasting difference.

Our 2025 Dawg Day of Giving figures are in, and we have so much to celebrate. This year, we:

• Brought in 731 total gifts (more than DOUBLING our goal!).
• Raised over $40,000 for our Ag Dawgs (a 9% increase over 2024).
• Unlocked $5,000 for the J. Tyson Stephens Rural Ag Scholars Fund by receiving over 350 gifts.

More cause for celebration:

• CAES brought in the second most gifts out of any college on campus.
• CAES won UGA's challenge for most gifts from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m.
• AGHON Agriculture Honors Society brought in the second largest gift totals out of all student organizations on campus.

To all of our donors, alumni, ambassadors, students, families, faculty, and staff: None of this could have been possible without you! Your generosity and commitment to CAES are shining bright.
