TO: Incoming UGA Students
FROM: Victor K. Wilson, Vice President for Student Affairs
Our campus community becomes safer and stronger with every person who is vaccinated against COVID-19. Thanks to a new statewide initiative, it is now easier than ever for current and incoming students to get their vaccines.
As a UGA student, you can now be vaccinated at any of 15 participating campuses in the University System of Georgia. Click here to locate the USG vaccination site nearest to you and to schedule an appointment.
If you haven’t yet received your first dose, you can get your first and second doses over the summer at the campus closest to you.
For example, if your hometown is near Statesboro, you may schedule an appointment to get vaccinated at Georgia Southern. Are you closer to Columbus? Then perhaps Columbus State is closest for you. If you plan to visit Athens over the summer, you are welcome to schedule a vaccination appointment at the University Health Center while you are in town—and, as you’ll see below, you can even do so during Orientation.
In addition to these 15 USG campus vaccination sites, students may also locate additional community vaccination sites through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's vaccination locator.
Click here if you would like to schedule a vaccination appointment directly with the University Health Center. Currently we have Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines available. If you have not created an account with the UHC Patient Portal – please click here.
Get Vaccinated during UGA Orientation For added convenience, incoming students and families attending UGA Orientation have the opportunity to sign up to receive their vaccine during the lunch hour (12:00-1:00 p.m.) on the day of their scheduled orientation. A shuttle will take participants to/from the University Health Center. Click here to sign up for a vaccine during UGA Orientation. Please sign up by 9:45 a.m. on the day of your orientation.
Free COVID-19 Testing We are also still providing free COVID-19 testing at the University Health Center. If you are healthy and showing no symptoms (asymptomatic), you may schedule a test at the UGA Health Center. Click here to schedule an asymptomatic test.
While being vaccinated against COVID-19 is not required for attendance at UGA, it is strongly encouraged. The Bulldog community has remained Georgia Strong and Dawg Strong throughout the pandemic, and we look forward to welcoming you to Athens to Start Strong this fall.
