GWG Fundraising Update, Fall Events, and More!

Georgia Women Give

Georgia Women Give

I can only begin with one statement: WE DID IT! After a year of dedicated work, selfless volunteering, and generous giving, we grew Georgia Women Give to 152 donors!

I know I’ve said this before, but it is truly remarkable how this group has surpassed every goal put in front of it. We began with a goal of 50 donors, and we found THREE TIMES that many who are committed to philanthropy, community and learning. Amazing.

My sincerest thanks to all of you for helping us reach this point, and special thanks to our executive committee and everyone at UGA who is making it possible for this group to enjoy the impact and fellowship that make Georgia Women Give so special.

Accordingly, our One Big Question this time is about goals! We’ve been bragging, so why don’t you brag on yourself a bit?

One Big Question

What is a personal or professional goal, big or small, that you’ve achieved recently?

Add your thoughts to see the responses to our previous One Big Question!

Upcoming Events

Join us on Friday afternoon, November 15, for a luncheon and unique opportunity to experience the Porcelain and Decorative Arts Museum at the State Botanical Garden of Georgia. And in the evening, make plans to attend the annual Presidents Club reception.  Invitations to follow with details.

This football season, on home game weekends, join Georgia Women Give donors and their guests for a game day walk. We’ll meet at 7:30 a.m. on North Campus at the Arch. These should be great opportunities to visit with one another (and some new faces) while we tour campus and take in that exciting game day energy!

Stories from Campus

  • UGA sets new fundraising record
    • Our success in the past year was part of a historic year for the university. This is an incredibly exciting time to be a part of the UGA family.
  • Nancy Elder and Janey Murray: Covering All the Bases
    • Braves fans: try not to hold all the blue and orange against these impressive alumnae who are leading communications for the New York Mets!
  • Jan Barham named associate vice president for student affairs
    • Jan Barham has been an incredible asset to UGA, most notably as administrator of the Let All the Big Dawgs Eat Food Scholarship.
  • UGA breaks ground on new medical education and research building
    • You’ve surely heard about it at this point, but UGA is getting a new School of Medicine, and this new building will be the heart of the school. Again: what a time to be a Bulldog!

I am so very thrilled with how this group has grown, but I know there’s even more we can do, more people we can invite into the group, more challenges we can surpass. Here’s to an even more amazing second year for Georgia Women Give!

Go Dawgs!
