How to turn on cookies
To enjoy some of the user features of the External Affairs website, you need to enable cookies on your web browser. It's quick and simple to turn on the cookies feature.

  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.x
    You don't have the option to turn off cookies in Explorer version 3.x. Your browser should accept them automatically.
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.x (Windows)
    Cookies are accepted automatically in Internet Explorer 3.x and up. If you want to confirm that you can accept them:
    1. In Internet Explorer, click "Internet Options" on the "View" menu.
    2. Click the "Advanced" tab, and then click "Always Accept Cookies".
    3. Click OK until you return to Internet Explorer.
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.x (Mac)
    Cookies are accepted automatically in Internet Explorer 3.x and up. If you want to confirm that you can accept them:
    1. Open the "Edit" menu and select "Preferences."
    2. In the preferences window, click on "Receiving Files" settings.
    3. Under the receiving files settings, you'll see a section named "Cookies". Click on "Cookies"
    4. On the right side of the window, you will see the phrase: "When receiving cookies:" In the pull-down menu, select "Never Ask" or "Ask for each site". If you click "Ask for each site", the next time you receive a cookie from CharityVillage, you will be asked if you want to accept cookies for this site -- Click "Accept".
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.x (Windows)
    Cookies are accepted automatically in Internet Explorer 3.x and up. If you want to confirm that you can accept them:
    1. In Internet Explorer, click "Internet Options" on the "Tools" menu.
    2. Click the "Security" tab, and then click "Custom Level". Click "Enable" under "Allow cookies that are stored on your computer".
    3. Click OK until you return to Internet Explorer.
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.x (Mac)
    Cookies are accepted automatically in Internet Explorer 3.x and up. If you want to confirm that you can accept them:
    1. Open the "Edit" menu and select "Preferences."

  • Netscape Navigator 3.x
    You don't have the option to turn off cookies in Navigator version 3.x. Your browser should accept them automatically.
  • Netscape Communicator 4.x
    1. Open the "Edit" menu and select "Preferences."
    2. In the "Preferences" window, click on the "Advanced" category
    3. Select "Accept All Cookies."
    4. Click "OK."
  • Netscape Communicator 6.x
    1. Open the "Edit" menu and select "Preferences."
    2. In the "Preferences" window, select "Privacy and Security" and then "Cookies".
    3. Select "Accept All Cookies" or "Accept only cookies that get sent back to the originating server".
    4. Click "OK."
  • Netscape Communicator 7.x
    1. Open the "Edit" menu and select "Preferences."
    2. In the "Preferences" window, select "Privacy and Security" and then "Cookies".
    3. Select "Enable All Cookies" or "Enable cookies for the originating website only".
    4. Click "OK."

    1. Click on "Tools" on the menu bar and select "Options".
    2. In the "Options" window, select / Expand "Cookies".
    3. Select "Allow Sites to Set Cookies".
  • Firefox version 1.5.0.7
    1. Click on "Tools" on the menu bar and select "Options".
    2. In the "Options" window, select the "Privacy" tab.
    3. Select the "Cookies" tab.
    4. Place a checkmark for the box "Allow Sites to set Cookies".
    5. Also in the "Keep Cookies" drop down box make sure you select "Until they Expire".
  • Safari Version 1.2.4
    1. Open the Safari browser and click on the Safari tab on the menu bar.
    2. Click on preferences.
    3. Click on the security tab in this new window.
    4. Make sure that "Enable Javascript" is enabled.
    5. Accepting Cookies: Please make sure that you either choose "Only from sites you navigate to" or "Always" in the cookies area.
