Calling All Redcoats!
SOME CALL IT THE FINISH LINE. WE CALL IT OUR STARTING POINT.
Monday evening update: The UGA Redcoat Band has received 74 unique gifts since Georgia Giving Week kicked off on G-Day! I realize that you are likely receiving many emails about Georgia Giving Week - but this is the UGA Redcoat Band's final push for this campaign this year - I promise!
Thank you to each of you who have made a gift and helped us towards our goal of 10% alumni participation during this special campaign!
Sincerely,
Sara Emery Hugh Hodgson School of Music
The University of Georgia was built to empower people to create better tomorrows for themselves, their communities, Georgia, and the world. The Redcoat Band exists to do the same -- not only through the university's three-part mission of teaching, research, and service, but also by producing unforgettable experiences for its members and inspirational performances for the entire UGA community.
G-Day marks the start of Georgia Giving Week. That’s one week every spring when UGA calls on its alumni to join in supporting university students and programs. For our part in Georgia Giving Week, we’re "Calling All Redcoats" to help create a better tomorrow for our beautiful tradition.
Gifts of any size supporting the Redcoats can be directed in a way that means the most to you. You can help address the most pressing current needs, like instrument repair and replacement. You might wish to help remove financial barriers to education for a potential Redcoat. Or, to give a gift that impacts students on a daily basis, you can support the development of the Redcoat Band's home and help improve its rehearsal environment.
No, just one of us alone cannot solve all these issues. But, like when you were in the band, we can do some pretty amazing things when we join together.
This note is going to every Redcoat Alumni, many of whom have already made a gift this year. If you have, thank you for helping build a better tomorrow for the Redcoat Band. If you haven't, Giving Week is a great opportunity to show the rest of UGA what loyalty looks like.
(It looks a lot like Redcoat Alumni.)
Gifts of any amount will make a difference. Our goal is to reach a 10% participation rate among Redcoat alumni during this week. If you were in a rank of eight Redcoats, you could be the one to help us exceed this goal: 625 gifts, made between April 17 and April 23, from the approximately 6,250 living Redcoat Alumni who we're trying to reach today.
Thank you for the legacy you left today's Redcoats, and for all the ways you continue to give.
Once, always...
All alumni who donate during Giving Week will receive a 20% discount from the UGA Bookstore, valid in stores and online April 15–30.
Every donor will also receive an exclusive set of vintage UGA embroidered patches - only available to Giving Week donors: PS - Use #CallingAllDawgs on social media to be entered for a chance to win some cool UGA prizes courtesy of the UGA Bookstore!
