There are a number of different reasons why you may not be able to enter into GAIL. Maybe you don’t have the correct access. Maybe you aren’t logged into the correct VPN group. Use the troubleshooting guide below to determine why you may not be able to access GAIL. If you are still experiencing any problems, please contact the Client Services team either through Live Chat or askit@uga.edu

1. Have you attended a GAIL 101 class?

If you are a new GAIL user but have not yet attended a GAIL 101 training class, you will not be able to access GAIL until after you have attended training.

2. Are you connected to the VPN?

Our VPN (Virtual Private Network) adds an extra layer of security to our GAIL data. You must be connected to the 02 Restricted Group in order to access GAIL.

3. Are you a student worker?

Every semester supervisors need to confirm that their student worker or graduate assistant still needs access to GAIL. If we do not receive an email confirmation, we terminate the student’s access.

4. Have you recently changed jobs or been promoted?

If you need GAIL access for your job and then move to another position, it is not assumed that you still need GAIL access for your new job. You will need to submit a new GAIL access form.

5. When was the last time you accessed GAIL?

If you have not logged into GAIL in the last 6 months, your access has most likely been removed. To get your access back, you will need to complete and submit a new GAIL access form
