Team Spotlight: Quality Assurance & Process Analysis

Who makes up the Quality Assurance & Process Analysis team?

The fearless leader and sole member of the Quality Assurance & Process Analysis (QA&PA) team is none other than Doris Cash! Let’s get to know Doris a little better with some fun facts!

  • In high school, she was in a troupe of singers & dancers known as the Entertainers. Troupe members performed at school functions, community events, local retirement centers and other schools and businesses.
  • She competed and placed in FBLA State Leadership Conference in the State of Ohio in Accounting.
  • Doris started at UGA in 1992, over 27 years ago, preparing financial statements, overseeing the audit and managing cash-flow and investments for the UGA Foundation.

What does the QA&PA team do?

Quality Assurance & Process Analysis is part of the larger Advancement Services team and has many areas of responsibility and expertise, including:

  • Creating & maintaining recognition programs
  • Creating & maintaining membership programs
  • Assisting in the creation of event registration pages in BBIS
  • Assisting in creation of various Qualtrics forms
  • Analyzing, testing, and activating previously unused GAIL modules or functions (campaign module, membership module, volunteer module, etc.)
  • Evaluating current practices and data for possible improvements
  • Working on large data projects (constituent interests/causes, corporate hierarchy cleanup, PCI data, LinkedIn data, matching gift relationships, etc.)

Why do we need a QA&PA team?

In the accounting world, you need to know where every source of income comes from and how all those funds are allocated. You need to be able to understand and follow the entire process from start to finish. This is not unlike what Doris does in GAIL.  She studies the processes and data from start to finish (process analysis) to fully understand their impact and looks for ways to improve accuracy (quality assurance) and efficiency.

3 things QA&PA wants you to know...

Doris says:

  1. “My door is always open. I love hearing about your experiences, perceptions, and thoughts on existing processes and data, especially if you think they can be improved upon.”
  2. “If you want something tested or evaluated, I’m your gal!”
  3. “Occasionally I have to reach out to various staff across the organization with questions on what, how, or why something is done to better understand existing processes. This helps me understand the big picture: how each action or piece of data affects the overall use of GAIL by all parties.”
